PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY
Maria Piccinelli has oriented her academic and professional path toward intellectual property law, with a focus on patents and licensing. She graduated with highest honors (110/110 cum laude) in Law from Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna, defending a thesis in Industrial Law titled “Patent Licensing between Regulatory Frameworks and Contractual Clauses” (supervisor: Prof. Giorgio Spedicato), which examined the legal structure and deal mechanics of standard license agreements.
She also completed the WIPO–UNITO LL.M. in Intellectual Property, where her final paper offered a legal analysis of the 2023 reform of Article 65 of the Italian Industrial Property Code and its implications for technology transfer between academia and industry.
As a trainee lawyer at the firm, Maria is consolidating her training with a specific focus on industrial/IP law, leveraging her background in the transfer and licensing of patent rights and IP contracting to support businesses.
